The NAS Bazaar held on Saturday, 25th November2023 at the Nord Anglia School Jakarta.

The NAS Bazaar is a vibrant and popular annual event for our school community as well as the wider expat and local communities in South Jakarta. This year’s occasion was a great day for everyone to come together to socialise, eat and drink, shop and take part in a wide range of fun games and activities for the whole family.
The focus of our bazaar is to provide practical experiences for the children including creative activities such as making stick people or cookie decorating as well as fun challenges such as “Kerupuk Challenge” (trying to eat a dangling rice cookie without using your hands) or matching silhouettes of teachers to their photos. Also available in the children’s activities tent were some student-led stalls which were prepared by the students themselves. Year 6 created a treasure map whilst some of our extra-curricular (ECA) groups created items for sale such as the beautiful hangings made by the students who belong to “Weaving ECA”.
One of the busiest areas of the bazaar was wet and muddy but huge fun for the students who participated in “Throw the wet sponge at …” This was especially the case when it was the Principal of the school herself who was the target! Head of Primary, Ms Jo, also enjoyed a good soaking!

High quality local businesses were involved in the food and beverage area and shopping hall so there was something for everyone to enjoy during the day.

The whole school wore blue and green to acknowledge Earth Day and congregated on the field to create a heart to symbolize peace and love in our natural world. Afterwards, classes took part in a three-minute silence listeningonlyto the sounds of nature.
