Spotlight on ECAs: Chinese Cookery

27 augustus 2014

With over 180 Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) for our students to choose from, there is always something for everyone. We will be sharing some of these ECAs with you on our blog to give you a taster of the activities that students have the opportunity to take part in. Here we will take a look at Ms Ma’s Chinese Cookery ECA in secondary.

Our students enjoying learning all about Chinese cookery in the ECA last year

The objective of the Chinese Cookery ECA is to supplement the teaching of Mandarin in the school with more about the Chinese culture, in which cooking plays a big part.

Students are able to learn about various Chinese cooking techniques and find out about the different ways to prepare food. Stir-frying was one of the most popular methods of cooking last year!

The traditional Chinese dishes that the students cooked during last year’s ECA were braised pork in soy sauce, fried noodles, fried rice, fried shredded pork with green pepper, glutinous rice balls in fermented rice wine, toothed burclover pancake and Coca一Cola chicken wings.

Ms Ma will be running her Chinese Cookery ECA again this year, so if you’re interested in learning more about Chinese cuisine, make sure you sign up. You can find all the information and registration forms by following the link below.
