Shanghai Bandits Rugby Club at BISS Puxi

20 april 2015

The Shanghai Bandits are a community rugby club that strives to inspire and develop young rugby players in Shanghai and from this month they will be based at our school, giving our students even more opportunities to play.

The mission of this club is to provide a junior rugby club in the Puxi area that will further support the school competition as well as improving the quality of club competition within Shanghai. They are set up as a community club and encourage parents and older students to volunteer to coach and help out at our weekly Sunday training. Head coach Simon Pang is an International Rugby Board (IRB) Educator and an experienced coach at the youth level. Parents and students who would like to volunteer in coaching will get IRB training and support from the club.

Shanghai Bandits currently have an Under 7s team (Touch/tag rugby), an Under 9s and two Under 11s teams that compete in tournaments around Shanghai.  During their season they will be competing against the Shanghai Hairy Crabs, Dulwich junior rugby club and the Japanese Seahorses.  They are recruiting for all age groups for the new season starting in April! Contact Simon at shbandits@hotmail.com for more information.

Training is every Sunday:

  • Under 7s: 9am - 10am
  • Under 9s: 9am - 10am
  • Under 11s: 10:15am - 11:30am
