Our Global Orchestra Musicians off to New York!

25 juni 2015

Our three vocalists left school on Tuesday with Miss Rakowski, Head of Music, to fly to New York for the Global Orchestra summer school, along with students from the other Nord Anglia Education schools around the China region.

Students on their way to New York, along with their peers from BISS Pudong

The three students attending from BISS Puxi are Leon Palmgren in Year 6, Silvia  Cassanelli in Year 7 and Helena Smith in Year 12. They had a good flight and landed in New York early this morning. The students are all making friends with each other and are looking forward to what the next few days have in store.

The 81 student musicians and singers will jump straight into rehearsals in preparation for the Nord Anglia Global Orchestra concert on the 30 June at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music. During the trip, students will participate in inspiring workshops and practice sessions guided by experts. Our students will also be privileged to visit The Juilliard School, which has created a special programme of interactive performances with teaching artists in the fields of dance, drama, and music.

We will share updates from them as they come through over the course of the programme and you can see pictures of all the students attending the Global Orchestra by following the link below.
