He will be following a tough route walking for about 6-8 hours a day and sleeping and eating in very simple settlements and trekking huts high up in rural Nepal. He will even sleep at Mount Everest basecamp!
Everard is very excited but also a little bit nervous about his adventure but is happy that he will have a grown up helping him. He will be supported by Mr Ali MacKenzie (Miss Meehan’s husband) who will look after him and make sure he has a lot of fun, is encouraged to keep going even when it is hard, and to be brave to overcome any challenges he meets on the way.
Today Everard was very proud to meet with Harka Gurung in Kathmandu and presented him with a cheque for 1800 USD – the money that was raised from the Garden Party Raffle. All this money will contribute to the rebuilding of Chalish Village School which was destroyed in last year’s terrible earthquake. Harka was grateful for this donation and the help of the BISS Puxi Community in supporting the rebuilding of his village school. Thanks to everyone who made this donation possible by buying raffle tickets.
Everard will keep us updated on his travels and send some photos when he can.
Good Luck Everard.
