Crispy Honey Cakes on the Menu for Year 1!

This week, Year 1 has been learning all about estimating and weighing different objects.

They have been busy using the cubes and the gram weights when trying to make the scales balance.

They have also been demonstrating their confidence and independence when using the equipment in the cooking room. It is hard to believe how much they have grown up this year! They sensibly used the scales and measuring cups to get the correct amount of butter, sugar, honey and cornflakes when making crispy honey cakes.

They then carefully mixed the ingredients together and spooned the correct about into each of the cake cases. Some of the children then described them as tasting yummy, sweet, crunchy and delicious.
