24 november 2017

On sunny Thursday morning Year 5 set off to the Science and Technology  Museum to introduce our new STEAM topic of Space.

After arriving we headed up to the third floor to view an exhibition on the history of space travel and how technology has changed over the years. We used our ipads to make a documentary about one of three topics: satellites, rockets or astronauts. We worked in pairs and filmed ourselves describing what we saw and detailing the information that we read. During our trip ee watched an amazing documentary about the universe in the planetarium, called Cosmic Collisions, which really brought it home to us that the universe is gigantic and we are only a small part. We are very excited to investigate more in the upcoming weeks and learn about different aspects of space.
