Visiting Author Curtis Jobling

08 november 2017

Today the children of KS1 and KS2 were treated to workshops of illustration, story-telling and games in action-packed literary workshops from our visiting author, Curtis Jobling.

  • Visiting Author Curtis Jobling

The children from Year 1 and Year 2 were shown clips of the animation Raaa Raaa the Lion, introduced to new stories and sang along (with their teachers!) to Old Mac Donald Had a Zoo. Curtis demonstrated his talent for illustration with awesome live drawings of his many characters. We all learnt how to draw Raa Raa the Lion ourselves as we followed Curtis’ step-by-step instructions.

Years 5 And Year 6 learnt about the intriguing and unusual characters of Curtis’ fantasy novels before listening to extracts from the Wereworld series, becoming immersed in the world of the main character Drew Ferran.

The children from Years 3 and 4 were captivated by the stories of Max Helsing and the fiendish characters from it. They were also wowed by his live illustrations from Bob the Builder to a werewolf!

A huge thank you to Mr Jobling, we all had a fantastic time. The books will be available in our library to borrow soon.
