Korean Trip

03 mei 2017

On the 28th of April, all Year 10 students of Korean went on cultural trip to Hongkeou Park, where Patriot Yun Memorial Hall is located. This allowed us to attend the 85th anniversary celebratory event that was taking place there.

We all watched as the presenter told us about the great life of Patriot Yun, and many wreaths were presented to commemorate his work. The ambiance was very idyllic: there were beautiful and colorful blossom trees around the park, boats floating in the river and traditional Chinese buildings surrounding the scene.

After the formal event, we all visited the memorial hall. There were a lot of historical pictures with detailed explanations of Patriot Yun’s life and his achievements. Basically, he carried on an independence movement in defiance of Japanese coercion and became a trigger of the independence of Korea. After we watched an impressive video, we began making an outline for our writing project. There were two options available to choose from, which allowed us to focus on description or narration by creating a novel based on Patriot Yun’s life.

Overall, this trip was a fantastic experience that reminded us of the heroic deeds that gave courage to many independence fighters. It was very valuable experience to us and our peers and we would absolutely love to go again! We definitely recommend this trip to all Korean students!
