Delving into ideas, times and places outside our own experience builds our understanding of the contemporary world and helps us empathise, developing our humanity. We can read for information to build subject-specific knowledge, we can read to develop our vocabulary and improve our speed of reading comprehension, we can read to celebrate our uniqueness as the only specie on the planet which can communicate through writing. Please enjoy a sample of Year 8’s “Books which made a difference to us” this year.
