Week Beginning 4 January 2016

Thank you to all the parents for all your continued support over the first term. The children have worked extremely hard and it has been such a pleasure to see them settling in and enjoying learning and making new friends. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

  • We look forward to welcoming all the existing students back on Wednesday 6 January and all the new children and families on Tuesday 5 January.
  • Show and Tell: Your child may have a special Christmas present or holiday souvenir that they would like to show to their friends at school.  They are very welcome to bring it in on Friday to share during our Show and Tell session.
  • If you have any new-born baby clothes our classroom dolls would love them! Please let us know. Much appreciated!

This week we will start a new learning theme of Traditional tales. We have chosen two special stories to focus on so we can transform the Nursery unit into a magical area! Our two stories will be ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’.

Key Vocabulary:  Tales, three bears, three pigs, sticks, straw, bricks, porridge, bowl, chairs, spoon, bed.

Personal Social Emotional Development

As this week is a short week we would like to spend time settling the children back into their routines after the holiday. As we have a new class joining us we would love to see the children mixing with our new children, learning their friend’s names and exploring the new classrooms.

Key Vocabulary: Friends, friendships, new people.

The children will make their own houses for the three little pigs, thinking just like them! What materials will work best? Will your house be ok if the big bad wolf came? We will test these using a hair dryer to see if they will be ok!

Key vocabulary: materials, models, three little pigs.

taalaanbod: boterham, bord, glas, lepel, mes, vork, bord, lekker, proeven, ruiken, honger, dorst, smullen, Smakelijk!

Een fijne vakantie gewenst en tot in 2016!
