LEARNING THEME

The traditional stories of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and The 3 Billy Goats Gruff have proved to be very popular among our Pre Nursery Children, so next week we are going to reinforce and consolidate the above two stories, but with a greater focus on literacy. We will retell and act out the stories with the children, encouraging them to fill in the missing words and join in with repeated refrains. We will look at and read books in small groups and discuss with the children: Who were the main characters in the story? Where were the stories set? What happened at the beginning/middle of the story? How will the story end? We will continue to promote a love of reading and the careful handling of books.

Key Vocabulary: character, beginning, middle, ending, setting,

Personal Social Emotional Development

These two traditional stories also provide us a great opportunity to discuss choices with the children. Do we take things that don’t belong to us? Do we enter other people’s houses without permission? Did Goldilocks make good choices? What is a good choice? What is a poor choice? How do we make good choices?

Key Vocabulary: good, poor, choice,

Ons kartonnen huis  voor Jules is helemaal klaar langs de buitenkant.  Deze week richten we de verschillende kamers in. Wat vind je allemaal in de slaapkamer van Jules?  Hoe moet de keuken eruit zien?

Neem volgende week een kijkje op de Facebook pagina van SDS .  We posten dagelijks een kookrubriek waarin u de culinaire kunsten van uw kinderen kan bewonderen.

We are going to talk about good choices in the stories. Children are going to recognise which choice can make you and other people feel better. We also provide some stories to get children involved in. This will help show them how different choices can make a difference.

Key words: 好(good) 不好(not good) manner(习惯).
