MESSAGES

  • Please label all school uniform, snack boxes and water bottle to avoid items getting lost in school. Every child needs to have a water bottle to bring in each day. No glass containers please.
  • In the Summer Term, please ensure children wear sun hats on hot days to protect them when playing outside.

LITERACY

In Literacy, we will be continuing with our focus on argumentative texts . The children will continue to look at a variety of texts and identify key pieces of language that are used to write an argument. They will have a class debate about whether robots could replace teachers! The children will learn the rules of debating and how to make sure that all people have an opportunity to express their viewpoint. The children will build up ideas for this argument and will write an argument by the end of the week.

MATHS

In Maths this week we will be revising work that has been taught this term. The children will cover a range of topics including fractions, place value, multiplication, division and problem solving. We will also focus on mental arithmetic, giving the children a variety of questions that encourage use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division methods.

THEMED LEARNING

‘Space’

In Themed Learning this week the children will choose an aspect of space that they would like to research in greater depth. The children will use non-fiction books from the library and online resources to create a fact file of an area that really interests them. We are looking forward to seeing the variety of topics that come up!
