Week Beginning 8 June 2015

Year 6 BISSCARS Graduation Ceremony - Thursday 18 June. This is an event where students are individually recognised for their contributions to life at BISS Puxi Primary School and is an opportunity for students to showcase talents.

Students will be evaluating board games and creating their own game in collaborative groups. They will be writng instructions so that that others can play the game. Students will also consider how to advertise and market their game.


Students will be tested by a series of investigations which will require the application of a range of high performance skills to solve each one. They will apply different problem solving strategies and work collaboratively to find solutions and suggest further avenues of enquiry.

Themed Learning

‘Healthy Living’

The topic of the term will be ‘Healthy Living’. This will include nutrition, cardiovascular health, hygiene and rest to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Students will be engaged in a number of team building events and art activities. On Friday students will have the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a secondary student as part of our transition process.


This week we will be discussing ‘Becoming a teenager’ and ‘How babies are made’.

De  ‘Hoe-overleef-ik-Azië-gids’ begint al echt vorm te krijgen. De komende weken werken de leerlingen zelfstandig aan het afronden van hun artikelen.

De komende twee weken worden de Cito-toetsen afgenomen. U kunt uw zoon en/of dochter niet voor deze toetsen voorbereiden. De toetsen meten de voortgang die de leerling gemaakt heeft op het gebied van spelling, woordenschat en technisch lezen in de afgelopen 4 maanden. Zorg er wel voor dat uw kind goed uitgerust is.

Next week we will be planning some Spanish recipes to cook to celebrate the end of term. Homework is consolidation work based on some of the work we have done this year.
