Last week we focused on familiarising and sequencing a story called Stellaluna. This week we are going to use the structure of a beginning, middle and end to create our own animal story. Whilst getting our creative juices flowing the children will continue to focus on; letter formation, full stops, capital letters and adjectives.

In Maths we will look at the basic concepts of measure, in particular length and weight. We will look at practical investigations to help the children grasp the idea of how long 1cm, 2cm, 3cms etc actually is. We will develop this knowledge further by starting to answer simple practical problems.

We will be continuing our topic Go Wild! The children will continue to learn about different types of animals, such as amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds and insects. After the UNICEF World Children’s day our focus we will turn our hands to developing art skills in modelling. As part of our Go Wild topic we looked at the characters of the Madagascar movie. The children will be taught how to model and craft clay to create a character.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING AND DIGITAL LITERACY
The children will learn how to code and develop their coding skills through a computer programme on laptops. They will learn that they can make an item move by giving it clear instructions.

This week the children will talk and reflect positively on what they achieved this ter. These may be academic achievements in class, they might be sport or music based. Perhaps they have made some new friends.

De Sint is aangekomen in Shanghai! Deze week nemen we een kijkje in het huis van de Sint. Hoe denk jij dat de slaapkamer van de Sint eruit ziet? Neemt de Sint een bad of een douche? We komen het deze week allemaal te weten in de beroemde serie `Dag Sinterklaas` en bouwen onze eigen versie van het huis van Sinterklaas.
