LITERACY

In Literacy we will be looking at letter writing, particularly focusing on the purpose, features and layout. Students will also be working on their self-editing skills by checking their own writing for correct punctuation and letter formation.

MATHS

In Maths we will be moving onto the topic of data. The children will learn how to interpret and represent data on bar charts, tally charts, block graphs and Venn diagrams. They will work in pairs to create surveys for their classmates and represent their findings. They will use lots of Maths language to discuss and record their results.

STEAM THEME

The children will be working on collaboration and cooperation skills this week. They will be set a series of team building challenges that they must work together as a team to succeed. They will then reflect positively on what they achieved as a team.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING AND DIGITAL LITERACY

The children will learn how to code and develop their coding skills through a computer programme on laptops.  They will learn that they can make an item move by giving it clear instructions.

PSHCE

This week the children will learn about Christmas around the world and Christmas traditions. They will work collaboratively to make Christmas crafts and sing Christmas songs.

DUTCH

Wat fijn dat de Sint ook dit jaar de kinderen van SDS niet vergeten is!   Met gevulde buikjes en blije hartjes bereiden we ons voor op het volgende feest:  Kerstmis!  We versieren de kerstboom in de klas en lezen samen `Het Kindje in de Stal`, een kerstverhaal naar Liesbeth Slegers.
