Week Beginning 7 November 2016

Please remember next weekend is a long weekend, and school will be closed from Friday 11th to Tuesday 15th, and reopened Wednesday 16th November.

  • Homework will be given out on Wednesdays and expected in on Mondays.
  • Please ensure that your child has the correct school uniform. In particular please ensure your child is wearing black shoes. Girls should wear plain white socks and boys should wear black or grey socks. You can review the school’s uniform policy here.
  • Please remember to send in and label your child’s snack box and water bottle, as well as a raincoat for wet weather.
  • If for any reason your child is unable to take part in PE, please send a signed message in your child’s communication book.  Your child still needs to bring in their PE kit to enable them to participate as a coach, an official or to give feedback.

This week in Literacy we are start with a new unit. This will involve the children investigating letters. They will start by discussing who writes letters and why, as well as their features and layout. By the end of the unit the children will be asked to write a letter to the famous author, Julia Donaldson. To enable them to do this, the unit will include discussing, comparing and contrasting different books by Julia, and key facts about her.

Over the next two weeks the children, on rotation, will be working with technology. The children will cover one aspect of computer programming. This will involve the children initially having to answer question and create graphs with a paper database to find out how long it can take to sort through information. They will  then start to interrogate pre-made databases to answer questions and create graphs, which they will find is much quicker. The unit will finish with the children creating their own dinosaur dataset for their peers to use.

Van Reisbureau naar Vroeger...

Vroeger was alles ...
