We welcome everyone to come to school dressed in Chinese-dress, red clothes or anything related to the upcoming Year of the Dog!
  • Friday: Dragon Dance (8.30am in Primary)
  • Please ensure that your child has the correct school uniform. In particular please ensure your child is wearing black shoes. Girls should wear plain white socks and boys should wear black or grey socks. You can review the school’s uniform policy here.
  • Happy Chinese New Year!  School holidays will be from 10th to 25th February.

This week we will be continuing our unit on information texts.  We will be writing our own text on an aspect of human biology such as the skeleton, circulatory system or diseases.

This week we will continue to study biology for our topic ‘iDoctor’.  Children will identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system, and describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood.  Also, children will recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way their bodies function; describing the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within animals, including humans.

On Thursday, the children will view a heart dissection!  They will learn about the different parts of the heart and how it functions.

This week, we will continue learning design and 3D printing skills using the program: Blender.  The children will work in groups to create a pencil holder.

This term our new PSHCE / well-being program will begin.  The first core value covered is collaboration.  This is the ability to work constructively with others, and children will learn to negotiate, to resolve conflicts, and to support agreed solutions. In doing so, they will strengthen their sense of teamwork and realize where they lack certain skills; which they can later hone. This week will have a key focus Chinese New Year and how it brings families together.

Collaboration, groups, teamwork, skills, friendship
