Hannah completed a degree in American Studies and after spending a year studying in America, decided to spend a couple of years travelling. These experiences instilled in her a passion for experiencing new cultures and languages and led to her returning to university to gain her masters in East Asian Studies. As a result, she decided to move to Taiwan in an attempt to improve her Mandarin, but instead discovered a passion for teaching after teaching English at a kindergarten. After another year teaching in Spain, she returned to the UK to complete her PGCE. She has taught across all key stages but realised that she felt most fulfilled and challenged in Early Years. Hannah loves seeing the amazing progress children can rapidly make at this age and constantly strives for new ways to engage and motivate her students. For the last two years she has been a nursery teacher at a London primary school.
Hannah has loved working in London but feels ready for the next step in her career, and in particular a return to a region she has grown to love. She was inspired by the ethos of the Nord Anglia family of schools and is looking forward to teaching at BISS Puxi.
Hannah likes keeping active when she is not in the classroom. She enjoys running, hiking, cooking and knitting. She loves travelling and reading about new places she would like to visit, as well as finding hidden corners of the city she lives in. She can usually be found researching new places to visit and eat in! Hannah also loves learning about different cultures and languages. Hannah is excited about exploring Shanghai and getting the opportunity to travel in China, as well as finally improving her Chinese. She also can’t wait to eat lots of delicious food in China!
