Once having children of her own, Rachel decided to become an accredited childminder and was awarded ‘outstanding’ grade from an Ofsted inspection. Along with her family, she then decided to move to Egypt, where she taught a nursery class. Rachel joined BISS in 2020 as a Pre-Nursery teacher and is really looking forward to being part of the BISS community and supporting children on their learning journey.
Rachel is passionate about Early Years and child-led play. She has had significant training in ‘The Curiosity Approach’ whereby children are encouraged to explore and develop their own learning through inspirational and engaging resources and experiences. Coming to BISS offers Rachel an exciting opportunity to continue her professional development and experience a fantastic new environment and culture.
Rachel enjoys being outdoors, walking her dog and exploring the local area with her family. She also likes to dance and has learned ballet since an early age. Rachel also likes to meet with other parents and has previously organised and run baby and parent groups in Shanghai and the UK. One of these groups was ‘Baby Cubs’ which was run at BISS. Rachel is married to Dafydd, and together they have two children; Reuben, 8 years old and Martha, 3. As a family, they enjoy spending time on the beach and swimming.
