    Phillip Griffin

    BA, MA, PGDE, MSc

Phillip hails from Leitrim in the North West of Ireland. He started his teaching career in a school in Dublin in 2009 but like a true Geographer, wanted to travel and experience different cultures. In 2012, he moved to Abu Dhabi and was Head of Humanities for 5 years. The UAE truly is a melting pot and because of this, Phillip has had the opportunity to work with teachers from all over the world and similarly, teach a culturally diverse range of students. This is something he will never take for granted. He has learned a lot both professionally and personally by working in a multicultural environment. Phillip is very excited to continue his learning journey in China.

In 2015 she completed an MA in Irish Studies at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, London, which allowed her to conduct her own research into migration – an area of Geography she is passionate about.

Mary has spent the last three years working at another school in Shanghai and has particularly enjoyed teaching the modern content of the IBDP Geography course. She prides herself on the rapport she builds with students and aims to foster a positive and safe classroom environment, where students feel able take academic risks without fear of getting things wrong.
