Shelley Li

Head of Secondary Mandarin

Shelley went to East China Normal University in Shanghai, where she gained a Bachelor’s in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. In 2019, she completed her Master's in International Education with King’s College London, through Nord Anglia University.

Shelley likes to work with students who are keen to improve in Chinese by setting up targets and design strategies together so that they can reach their potential.  As she teaches more and more native classes, she has grown to enjoy reading literature with her students and hearng them share their ideas in classroom. Shelley firmly believes that practice makes perfect and to build up students’ skills, she aims to embed a variety of practice into her everyday lessons.

Shelley has a wide range of interests, including playing badminton, reading, travelling and going to the movies. Haruki Murakami is her favourite author and she never misses reading any of his books. Also, books about how to teach is one of her favuorite topis and 'Teach Like a Champion' is on the top of her list - maybe that’s because deep in her mind, Shelley hopes to be a champion teacher herself.Shelley was born in Shandong province and grew up in Shanghai; she loves the city and regards it as her second hometown.
