Our student profile this week is Saif from Year 10. Below Saif gives us an introduction to himself.

Hello, my name is Saif. I am 16 years and currently doing my GCSE’S in year 10. I was born in Lahore, Pakistan but have been living in the UAE for the past five years. Me and my family love the welcoming nature of the people here in the school and Abu Dhabi.

I like to keep myself active by playing lots of sports, mainly I like to play cricket even getting to captain the U-15 BIS Abu Dhabi’s cricket team and recently playing for the U-16 cricket team. I also usually like to play table tennis and baseball in my spare time. I really love sports as I like competition and it helps me meet new people that are also interested in sports.

I have always had a passion for acting. I have acted as Peter from Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, which I really loved as it boosted my confidence and conversational skill and made me want to take part in even more drama related events. Which I did as I took part in the production called ‘Les Misérables’ in a backstage role. I also thoroughly enjoyed this experience which allowed to meet new people with the same interests as me. I’m very grateful for all the chances I have gotten to improve my acting skills through productions and plays and will love to keep on doing them.

The other opportunity I have gotten through the school is to complete the Duke of Edinburgh. It was a grueling but a very fun experience which taught me many life and survival skills. It even allowed me to get to know certain people a lot better and left me with memories that I will cherish forever.

I am very thankful for all the memories and opportunities BIS Abu Dhabi has presented me with and all the friends I have made over the years, I look forward to what the upcoming years hold for me.
