Thailand is an unfamiliar place and I have always believed that unfamiliar places bring out the best in anyone. With that idea in mind, I left my job as a language instructor in my hometown, packed my bags and braced myself for new challenges as I move to a place that is totally foreign to me. Two weeks after arriving in Bangkok, I was accepted as a Teaching Assistant at St. John's International School where I worked with children from cultural backgrounds that are totally different from mine. Each interaction broadened my understanding of their educational needs and made me think of ways to assist them. I had fun sharing my own stories and ideas to them as much as I have enjoyed learning from them.
I hold a degree in Journalism, and although I still love to write and create materials that are to be used publicly, I have found contentment and happiness in teaching. Working with children is always fun, challenging and humbling because the more you teach them, the more you discover about yourself and how the world works. Learning support is an integral part of St Andews International School Bangkok and I am very happy to be a part of this vibrant, professional team.
I spend my free time watching Asian dramas and movies, reading books, taking pictures, writing about random things, and sleeping.
