A new school year also represents new opportunities, with regards to leadership for our Year 6 pupils. During the opening week of term, children from Year 6 Eagles were given the opportunity to apply for the vacant sports captain positions. After registering their interest by completing an application form, the shortlisted candidates were given a taste of the ‘real world’ as they were interviewed by Mr Magson.
BSB Sanlitun PE Department is proud to announce that the following children were successful in acquiring the sports captain roles: Amiee Hall (Girls Sports Captain), Marco Marescialli (Boys Sports Captain), Keira Yu (Girls Vice Sports Captain), Rocky Jing (Boys Vice Sports Captain).
KS2 children have begun the year with a splash, starting their 8-week swimming programme at Tera Wellness Centre, Sanyuanqiao. The children will develop their stroke technique, speed and stamina in the pool which culminates in the KS2 Swimming Gala held at BSB Shunyi on Monday 23rd October!
Reception children are also set to start their swimming programme. The children will be working on basic water safety whilst being introduced to different swimming strokes over a 3 week period during August and September.
Children in upper KS2 are also getting stuck into off-site PE at Lido, focusing on Tee-Ball. Children will have access to the facilities at Side Park during term 1 in order to tune their skills ahead of the FOBISIA 2018 trials, which take place just before the Christmas holidays.
We are very excited for yet another blockbuster year on the sporting front at BSB Sanlitun!
