Freeze experiment in Year 1

This week, the children in Year 1 have been doing a science experiment all about ‘freezing’.

We looked at different liquids such as mayonnaise, water, apply juice, vinegar, washing up liquid and chocolate spread. The children predicted which liquid they thought would freeze first when we put them in the freezer. Over the day, we observed and recorded which liquids froze the quickest. The water and apple juice froze first. The mayonnaise, vinegar and chocolate spread didn’t freeze well and were still slushy when we checked in the afternoon.
