The Forces Are With You

This week in The Forces Are With You the children looked at centripetal forces (movement in a circular motion that is directed towards a centre).

In order to create and experience this force, the children created tornados in a bottle. The children did this by adding washing up liquid and water to the bottle along with a little bit of glitter. They then spun the bottle in a circular motion to create a vortex or centripetal force – this picked the glitter up, spinning it around in a circular motion that was directed towards the centre.
