24 January 2019

Year 1 have had to think about which materials they will need in order for their boat to stay afloat. First they made predictions and labelled their designs. Next, in groups, they built their boats using all sorts of materials. Finally they tested their boats in water to see which ones would stay afloat or not get ruined in the water.

Year 1 discovered those that stayed afloat were made from waterproof materials, but those that didn’t such as paper boats were not waterproof so they got destroyed.
