Kingfishers Photography Focus

In the Kingfishers classroom we have been snap happy capturing images as part of our MIT challenge ‘A Different Lens’. First we researched Felice Frankel  the MIT professor  who has been using photography to reveal the beauty of Science for more than 25 years. Her compelling images have appeared in magazines such as National Geographic, scientific journals, as well as in six books she has had published.

Inspired by Frankel’s images, we we were focused on learning photography skills such as taking photos from different angles and perspectives using our ipads. Exploring a variety of photography apps on our ipads we experimented with portrait, macro, zoom and focus for our compositions. Budding Kingfisher photographers have been capturing compelling images and editing them using a variety of filters, crops, frames and options on our ipad apps. We are very proud of our images and look forward to continuing our work on the MIT challenge.
