Year 5 Explore Battles

Year 5 have been enjoying their ‘battles’ Topic very much.

  • Year 5 Explore Battles
  • Year 5 Explore Battles
  • Year 5 Explore Battles

We have used the term battles flexibly as our learning has encompassed a broad variety of conflict situations: the conflict that took place in the unification of China; the conflict between natural organisms; and the conflict expressed in various forms of literature.

In Topic, we have learnt about concepts such as ‘the Mandate of Heaven’ and the ‘dynastic cycle’. We have learnt about the Qin Dynasty and the role of the emperor Qin Shi Huang in unifying China.

Year 5 have looked at Qin Shi Huang’s achievements and analyzed how effective he was as an emperor. Our studies have also encompassed the Silk Road and an analysis of its importance in spreading products, materials, cultural and religion across Eurasia.
