Reception Sharks Class Teacher

I graduated from the University of Cumbria with a Bachelor of Education degree with Art and Design specialism. I completed my NQT year in Year 2 at St Hilda’s Primary School in Prestwich, Manchester and then moved on to work at Bare Trees Primary School in Oldham.

I spent two years working in Year 2 at Bare Trees and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The school helped me to grow as a professional and developed my teaching style. I was given the chance to be part of the Science and Art coordinator team, which really benefitted my professional development.

During my time at University I was lucky enough to have opportunities to travel a little. This included trips to the United States, where I worked at a girl’s summer camp for two months. I also completed one of my school placements at a primary school in Krakow, Poland. From these involvements, I developed a love for travelling to new places and decided I would really like to work abroad.

After gaining teaching experience in the UK I felt ready to take on a new role and applied for the job at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun.

I have now been in Beijing for two years and I have loved every minute of it. Working at BSB Sanlitun has helped me grow as a teacher and I look forward to another year here. I have also managed to explore some of the cities in Northern China and I can’t wait to carry on exploring next year.
