After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Community Education I began my teaching career in the South of Italy. I taught children through the Cambridge curriculum and also became an examiner and invigilator. I then moved to Hangzhou. China where I taught children from 3 to 18 years. During this time, I discovered that my passion for teaching really lay in the early years setting. I then moved to Jinan, Shandong where I have been teaching Reception and Year One for the last 4 years.
I absolutely love teaching Early Years. I’m a passionate advocate for learning through play and love following the children’s leads and interests to create stimulating and fun learning experiences for them.
I love living in China and it has become my second home. China is a vibrant, fun and interesting place to live. It’s a wonderful mix of old and new. A country which embraces its strong heritage and values but also embraces the future.
I consider myself a happy, outgoing and confident person. I love new adventures and trying new things. I love reading and really enjoy history. I love travelling and football. I combined these two loves by being a member of the Scottish Tartan Army for over 8 years and seeing Scotland play football in over 18 countries.
I am very excited to be joining the wonderful team at BSB Sanlitun and can’t wait to get started!
