I studied at the University of Sunderland, England for my degree in Primary Education BA (Hons). After graduating, I spent just over three years working in a school in Newcastle, in the North East of England. I worked in EYFS, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Although I loved my time at the school, I was very eager to develop my practice and worked as supply teacher across all year groups and a range of different schools.
Whilst working as a supply teacher for the past six months, I have gained valuable experience across all year groups and I have worked in a variety of schools which has greatly benefited my teaching practice and has helped to inform me as to what type of school I would like to teach at. I decided to look at teaching abroad as I have always wanted to travel the world and see what is has to offer and I was excited to start my international career at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun because of the school’s commitment and enthusiasm towards learning and the dedication and support it offers to each individual pupil.
In my spare time, I love to go walking with my dog, going to the theatre and reading. Reading is my huge passion and it is something that I love to do. Travelling is something I have always wanted to do and I am thrilled at the opportunity that I have been given. I love exploring China, meeting new people and immersing myself in its history and culture.
