I began my teaching career in 2012 volunteering at a small school in Brighton. This provided me with invaluable experience and paved the way to completing my PGCE. After I graduated I worked in England as a Year 2 class teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school, however an opportunity was presented that would allow me to combine my passion for teaching, with my passion for travel.
Before moving to Beijing, I worked Qatar as a Year 2 Leader. This allowed me the opportunity to work with staff and children from around the globe. It has given me the experience of working with children from many different cultural backgrounds and for many English has been their second, or in some cases their third or fourth language. It is really humbling to see how children adapt to different ways of life and embrace new languages whilst trying to study. Something that I continued to enjoy living and working in China
Outside of work I love to travel. I have been fortunate enough to have lived in a number of different countries and parts of the world. This has enabled me to explore more of the surrounding areas and experience different cultures. I like to keep active, but can also be found curled up with a book.
