I qualified as a teacher in 2001 in the UK and worked for two years before starting my international teaching adventure.
During my career I have taught all primary age groups and led both curriculum subjects as well as pastoral teaching teams. As my career has progressed, I have developed a passion for the teaching and learning of younger children.
I previously worked in international schools in China, the US and the Middle East. I am delighted to be back living and working in Beijing, a city which I love and is ‘home’ to my own two children as this is where they were born.
As a shy child, I disliked speaking in front of others and I overcame this through drama. I now use drama experiences for children in my class to encourage their speaking and listening skills. As an adult I have continued this love of drama outside of school and have taken part in pantomimes and plays in all the countries I have lived in.
