Key Stage 1 Academic Leader, Maths Subject Leader, Year 1 Lions Class Teacher

Whilst studying a Business degree in the UK, I started volunteering in local schools as a teaching assistant, working with children and mentoring older pupils in secondary schools. This led me to want to follow a path into teaching. After gaining my PGCE qualification at Kingston University, I went on to teach at a primary school in South London. There I taught Year 4 for three years, was Maths Coordinator and took a Middle Leaders course.

Whilst teaching in the UK, I also completed my Masters in Education, studying the importance of peer coaching in children’s learning. It was whilst writing my dissertation that I decided to take the plunge and work abroad. Having researched several schools around the world, I chose The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun after being impressed by its commitment to learning and its community feel.

I have been teaching at BSB Sanlitun since 2013, teaching in Year 3 for two years and three years in Year 2.

I enjoy working out at the gym and exploring different cultures, foods and traditions. A keen traveller, I have been fortunate to visit some amazing places around the world, many of them in Asia. Aside from working out, I also enjoy live music and photography.

I am looking forward to my seventh year at BSB Sanlitun.
