Teaching is my passion! I love the fact that no two days are ever the same. I came to teaching later in life after having spent a few years travelling and working abroad. I have been lucky enough teach in Switzerland, Reunion Island, Cyprus and Nanjing, working mostly in KS2. Prior to this, I spent two years living in Paris and a year travelling around Australia before returning to full time education.
I attended the University of Aberdeen where I achieved an MA in French Studies and Sociology and a PGDE in Primary Education. International teaching combines my love of travel and learning. I can’t imagine having any other job!
I am now in my third year at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun. The school’s ‘Be Ambitious’ initiative reflects my own teaching philosophy. I strive to promote ambition, achievement and resilience in my classroom while encouraging a life-long love of learning. We also have a lot of laughs along the way.
Outside of school I like to travel and explore new places. In my spare time I love to cook and experiment with new recipes (some attempts are more successful than others!).
