After graduating from the University of Sheffield with an honours degree in History, I was accepted onto the JET Programme, which places you as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japanese schools. This wonderful experience sparked an interest in education and I then decided to apply for a post at The British School of Tokyo. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there - so much so, that I spent seven more happy years there, whilst simultaneously soaking up the culture and everything Tokyo had to offer! My experiences in Japan led me to return to the UK to do my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University.

After graduating from the University of Exeter, I studied for a Masters in sustainable development before setting my heart on teaching. I decided to pursue a career in primary education due to the quantity and quality of time I get to spend with the children. For the past three years, I have taught in schools in inner city London, where I worked with children from a variety of backgrounds. I have gained a wide range of skills and responsibilities as my teaching career has progressed. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching, having taught across years 3-5 at Key Stage 2 level.
