I am a classroom Teacher with seven years of teaching experience. After graduating from the University of Sussex with a degree in English Literature in 2006, I moved to South Korea where I taught English in both private and public institutions for a total of two years. I subsequently returned to the UK and worked in Inner London schools for two years both as an LSA and a TA.
From 2012 to 2013, I took part in the GTP program hosted by the West London Partnership, achieving my QTS in the Summer of 2013. I subsequently taught at Ruislip Gardens Primary School in Year 5 and then Year 6, leading that year group in my last year in that school. I then decided to make the move to China and BSB.
I am happy to work in a school that has rigorous academic standards, expects the best from its students and staff, and yet maintains an inclusive egalitarian approach to school life. I endeavor to develop thoughtfulness, empathy and a strong work ethic in the children I teach and a classroom environment in which critical thinking and risk-taking are celebrated.
When I am not at work, I like to read, watch films and explore cities and the countryside. I love the great outdoors! I am something of a fitness enthusiast and enjoy going to the gym and swimming regularly. I also enjoy going to art exhibitions, visiting museums, cooking and spending time with friends and family. I volunteer when I can and have worked with several charities in my spare time.
