A staff profile picture

Primary Arts Teacher

I have a degree in Education with Qualified Teacher Status from St. Mary’s University College, Twickenham, UK. My specialties include music and mathematics and I have completed post-graduate study in Early Childhood Education.

I have more than 10 years teaching experience across the whole primary age-range and have held positions of responsibility including Key Stage One Coordinator and Planning, Record-Keeping and Assessment Coordinator.  This experience was gained across three West London primary schools and I was lucky enough to have six months of private study and experience, in a range of elementary schools in Indianapolis, Indiana.

My two biggest passions in education are music and Early Years education.  When a position became available at BISB that combined the two, I was very excited to apply.

I really enjoy walking with my family, especially in the different seasons in New England.  I also love travelling and exploring new places.  When I have time, I like experimenting with cooking recipes from different countries. One of my aspirations is to try and learn a song from each country represented at our school!  I would then like to teach the children these songs, too.

what makes this school different

I think BISB is a unique place to work for many reasons.  The children are highly motivated, able and come from varied and diverse backgrounds.  This makes teaching enjoyable and rewarding. I really appreciate working in a school that has students from such a wide age-range.  It gives a great sense of belonging and knowing where the students are heading.   Having both my children both go through the primary school, I have experienced first-hand the exciting and inspiring curriculum on offer, which is unique.
