Year 5 Mission to Mars Project

Year 5 Mission to Mars Project

To complete our Space Topic, Year 5 completed a special Mission to Mars day on Tuesday. The focus was on teamwork, with students undertaking six challenges in their house teams.

They were observed by teachers, who took note of their communication, respect and inclusivity. The teams were outstanding. They demonstrated that this is a really special year group, where collaboration and kindness are evident in everything they do. They could all be potential astronauts heading to Mars in the future!

At my station, the rocket got broken but luckily the groups were able to land on Mars safely. To get back to Earth, they had to build a new rocket from lego pieces wearing oven gloves. This needed a lot of communication and perseverance amongst the teammates in this extreme situation!
