We believe that the National Curriculum for England coupled with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, are the finest and most developed combination of curricula available globally. It is for this reason that we choose to offer these to our students here at The British International School Budapest.
The big picture of our curriculum offered here at The British International School Budapest.
EYFS is often the first formal education a child undertakes and our teachers are very sensitive to the fact that children are not always used to the school routine.
The curriculum for Key Stage One is based on the National Curriculum for England and builds on the development and learning the children experience in our Early Years Centre. The curriculum is designed to ensure progression and continuity for each child as a unique individual.
Our Key Stage Two curriculum follows the guiding principles of the National Curriculum for England. At this stage in their development, through exciting and stimulating lessons, the children learn to collaborate, ask questions and share their knowledge in a range of ways that are in line with contemporary thinking on how children learn most effectively.
The start of Key Stage 3 is a transition year when students move from Primary to Secondary school.
Key Stage 4 is the name given to Years 10 and 11, the two year study period that culminates in the International/ General Certificate in Secondary Education examinations or I/GCSEs.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is widely regarded as one of the best pre-university courses that is offered worldwide. No other programme will prepare our students so well for University or work, which is why we offer this programme at our school.
We are extremely proud of our students' achievements here at The British International School Budapest.
