Early Childhood Teacher

In addition to having a teaching career that stems back to 2006, I’m an also a singer, songwriter, thespian, dancer, and children’s book writer. Ever since I was a child, I’ve explored nearly every aspect of the performing arts and it’s allowed me to have experiences like singing in the Vatican and at orphanages in Cape Town. Being a creative is a huge part of my identity, as a teacher and especially now as a new mom. I pride myself on being a genuine, mindful, and consistently positive person. I was born and raised in Aurora, IL and although it was a peaceful place to grow up, most of us suburbanites eagerly move to the city upon high school graduation. So far, I’ve lived in Pilsen and Uptown. I’ve also worked as a nanny in Roscoe Village and River North. I love that we have access to so many different cuisines in Chicago. I love to travel so it’s amazing that I can enjoy food from another country with just a quick trip to one of the many sub-neighborhoods within the city. Another thing I love about Chicago are the parks, playgrounds and the museum campus. I’m looking forward to the day I can take my daughter her first visit to the Art Institute of Chicago or water taxi ride downtown. Lastly I’m looking forward to a rewarding school year as an Early Learning Teacher for the Pre-Nursery’s “Lovely Lambs”, our youngest additions to the BISC-LP community!

I believe in instilling high self esteem , manners , an appreciation for community and a genuine love for learning within every student I have the privileged to teach. I am always so amazed at how adaptable and observant young children are which is why I believe that there is no limit to what every student can achieve or what characteristics they can embody simply by learning from their environment. For example, I've witnessed students who may have been shy in the beginning of school year become so confident and expressive by the end of the school year simply by being apart of a classroom environment that introduced them to the world and allowed them to naturally reflect its best parts. Those transformations are one of reasons why I teach.
