I am from South Wales, which is also where I studied for my undergraduate degree in Sport and Physical Education. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age, originally wanting to teach Physical Education in Secondary schools. However, after experiencing teaching at Primary school age I quickly changed my mind and studied Early Years and Foundation Phase Education at an institute in Hereford. After gaining my QTS I returned to Newport, South Wales, where I started my first teaching job. I have taught in two very diverse schools in Newport which has given me great experience in a range of areas.
I love travelling to the U.S., and during a visit to Chicago in 2013, I instantly fell in love with the city. I am looking forward to following my dreams of living in the U.S., especially in a city as exciting and vibrant as Chicago. Outside of teaching, I am a keen netball player. I have played at an elite level since the age of 17 and have been privileged enough to represent my country.
Creativity and challenge help our students get better every day. Creative teaching allows children to engage in real life situations and experiences. A creative teacher makes learning fun, relevant, and personal to each child. Challenge allows children to reach beyond their 'potential' whilst building confidence and independence in all areas of their learning.
