Matt Gregory | British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park

Year 2 Leader

I grew up in East London and, after finishing my degree, I took a range of jobs in the city before moving into teaching. I began my career in education at the primary school I attended as a child, spending 4 wonderful years working in the community I still recognize as home. I moved to Chicago in February 2013 and I have come to know and love the city for its cultural richness and diversity.

I have two children, Siobán and Eddie, both of whom attend the school. It is wonderful to see the two of them grown up in a place so alive as Chicago, and I am excited to see how we will take advantage of all the city has to offer.  We spend a lot of our time playing the parks and walking around our neighborhood.

There are many things that I love about teaching, and I am thankful that I have the opportunity to work with children who are so enthusiastic about their learning. I am also grateful to work alongside such a wonderfully committed group of colleagues and am proud to be part of the team at BISC-LP.

In my spare time (of which little exists two young children) I enjoy running and playing soccer. I was a season ticket holder at West Ham United back home in England and I currently run the supporters club here in Chicago.
