I am originally from a small seaside town on the South Coast of England called Bognor Regis. After graduating from University, I worked in the private sector in London before moving to Cambridge and starting my teaching career. I have lived in Cambridge for 15 years and both of my daughters were born there. In 2016, myself and my family spent an amazing year in Uppsala in Sweden. Then in the summer of 2017 we moved to the wonderful city of Chicago. My husband is an Associate Professor at the University of Chicago and we live in the lively and vibrant Hyde Park neighbourhood. There are so many reasons to love this city and its inhabitants. I have met so many wonderful and welcoming people from all different cultures and backgrounds. I also love this city's world class museums, theatres and comedy clubs. I am very excited about joining the BISC team and working at such a fantastic school.
I believe that there's no limit to what every student can achieve. All too easily, children can begin to perceive themselves and their abilities in a certain way. I believe that with inspiring, creative and supportive teaching a child can achieve anything they set their mind to. In my classroom we embrace the power of 'yet', "I can't do that ... yet." We all learn from each other. We support, value and challenge each other. All voices in the classroom are valued equally and we all strive to be the best we can be.
