Today the Year 5 classes enjoyed the opportunity to see renewable energies in practice at LEED Platinum certified Testa Produce. The company is a food distribution service that employs a range of green technologies such as solar panels, recycled water, gas fueled trucks and a wind turbine that generates over 800,000 kilowatts of energy a year. That’s enough to power 80 homes! Needless to say, it was the highlight of the trip for Year 5, who have been learning about energy and fuel in their International Primary Curriculum topic.
Year 6 completed another space mission when they visited the Adler Planetarium. As well as demonstrating their knowledge of Mars, the children learned more about the other planets when they participated in the show "Destination Solar System."
