Year 3

Last Friday the children in Year 3 had the opportunity to visit the Field Museum.  Linked to our topic work, ‘Treasure’, we investigated the Egyptian Exhibition, learning about tomb robbers, old traditions and the beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians.  We then went to the Gem Hall to look at some precious stones and learn all about our birth stones.  Thank you very much to our parent chaperones for joining us and making the trip possible!

Year 4

This Memorial Day weekend, many Year 4 students got on their bikes and took to the roads of Chicago for a 30 mile bike in the annual Bike the Drive event! Between the hours of 5:00-10:00am Lakeshore Drive was closed to all cars to be taken over by thousands of bikes, including our very own Year 4 enthusiasts! Families in Year 4 and from across the school joined the BISC team to show their support for a more environmentally friendly means of transportation. Many feared that the Chicago showers would discourage our Year 4 team members, but these resilient students would not be deterred by a few drops of rain - they put on their helmets and smiles and biked the drive!
