On August 31, 2015 British International School of Chicago (BISC), South Loop proudly opened our doors to 460+ students ages 3-18. This date also marked our official welcome to the Nord Anglia Education consortium of 42 sister schools across 15 countries. Andrew Fitzmaurice, CEO of Nord Anglia outlines the many benefits of a Nord Anglia education including the Global Campus and our collaboration with The Juilliard School, as well as personally welcomes us to the “family” here.
The admissions process is as much about “checking boxes” as it is about determining “fit”—we aspire to help you do both. Please read on for more information about admissions at BISC South Loop.
Start the BISC Admissions Process Early
In Chicago, we are fortunate to have so many wonderful choices when it comes to educational options for our children. To thoroughly research and visit each option takes time. As such, we encourage you to start your admissions process early to ensure you are able to visit each school you feel could be a good fit for your family. Many schools offer tours and open houses. Detailed information about group tours of BISC South Loop and our open houses, as well as online registration, can be found here. Most schools do not require an application to be on file to attend a tour or an open house. In fact, we recommend you tour before applying, as it will inform your application.
I registered for a tour! Now what?
Great! We hope you enjoyed getting to see BISC’s personalized learning in action! Subsequent steps of the admissions process like the parent meeting, shadow day or play date require an application to be on file before scheduling. Apply early to have plenty of dates and times available to you and your student. Dates fill up quickly, especially around the deadline! BISC South Loop’s 2016-17 school year admission applications are now available; please click here to download. For detailed, grade-specific information about the application process, please reference the admissions section of our website here.
How can I prepare?
Reflect on what is important to you. Reflect on who your child is as a learner. Come with your eyes open and your questions prepared. This is about finding the best fit for your family. Each step of the process from the tour to the parent meeting to the shadow day will assist you in getting to know BISC.
Remember, we are here to help!
As always, please do not hesitate to contact the South Loop Admissions Team at (773) 998-BISC or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions regarding the admissions process. We look forward to getting to know your family!
