Sounds of the season rang out at Harold Washington Library, where pianists Santiago, Simon, Bella and Nika played for an audience of community members. Click here to watch a recording of the recital. We’re pleased to announce our students will perform once again on March 2 and May 9. Stay tuned for details!

Approximately 50 students bundled up to carol at The Bean in Millennium Park. It was an enormous honor to perform in front of one of Chicago’s most famous landmarks. Along with a massive crowd, we sang traditional carols with the magnificent city skyline as our backdrop. Fox 32 Chicago News highlighted bits of the performance on their evening newscast!

Our students appeared on Fox 32 Chicago News once again during the morning show. Following an interview with Mrs. Rachel-White Hunt, Director of Music, about our holiday concert schedule, Katie and Theo performed a holiday favorite alongside Chris Rejman, a teacher in our After School Arts with Juilliard program.

We brought the holiday spirit back to school for Primary and Secondary holiday concerts. More than 200 children in Primary School shined during music and dance numbers, many of which linked to the Juilliard Core Works. The Secondary concert was full of surprises: an energetic dance routine by the whole of Middle School, incredible solos and student-lead ensembles, the debut of a moving composition written by an IB Music student, plus sketch after sketch that had the audience in stitches. On top of that, our technical theater club called BisTech ran lighting for the entire show.

The holiday performances embody the spirit of our Juilliard collaboration: all children can find a comfortable niche in performing arts.
